As you can see, there are many more male "ROM" producers than female; this is because males have the opportunity to produce far greater numbers of offspring than females. A male can obviously mate multiple times every day for the majority of its life time whereas a female can only produce a finite number of litters.

It is often assumed that a good producer will also be a good fighter in its own right, however this not always the case. Indeed some distinguished producers were poor fighters or curs (not game) although their ancestry is often found to be littered with prestigious deep game dogs or champion fighters. This means that the traits required to have good ability or gameness "gameness" may sometimes miss a generation or more. A good example in case and perhaps one of the best producers in Europe "Europe" during the late 20th century was Reid "Reid’s skipper". Although Skipper was a cur and not in anyway a game dog he did produce one of the best dogs of 20th century Europe in the form of the Champion Max "Scotsman’s champion Max" . If Skipper’s pedigree is examined it can be seen to contain some very famous fighting dog champions. Another dog that acquired "ROM" status coupled with a poor fighting record was Jumbo "Radonjic’s Jumbo" who produced many high caliber fighting dogs including a Grand Champion seven times winner. As already mentioned for a dog to be a champion in the United States and most of Europe including "Great Britain" and Ireland it has to win three contracted bona fide matches in a row and to be a Grand champion it must win five without losing one. This may seem like a low number for those unfamiliar with "Cajun rules" fighting, but in fact, it is quite a feat considering that these dogs can fight for many hours in a single match.
